What are your S&H charges,and when/how can I expect delivery?
For items in stock at our Danvers, MA facility, shipping is done via USPS. For items in stock at warehouse locations, shipping is done by UPS .
Items will be sent within 2 business days(excludes federal holidays, Sat/Sun)of order receipt. Unexpected delays in the order-filling process will always be communicated to customers, and remedied by any/all means available to us.
We charge 1.00 per item S&H, for standard shipping service, I.E. USPS media mail if shipped from our Danvers, MA location, or UPS ground if shipped from warehouse. Expected arrival times in the continental U.S. for standard Shipping would be 3-9 days from date of order.
Expedited service is available for $2/item, I.E. USPS 1st class mail, or Priority Mail if pkg weight exceeds 16 oz, for items shipped from our Danvers, MA facility; or UPS ground if shipped from warehouse closest to you. Expected arrival time in the continental U.S. for Expedited Service would be 2-6 days.
What is your used product warrantee?
All previewed items sold complete with all original packaging,each item tested and guaranteed against working defects for 1 full year.
If my order hasn't arrived in the expected time period, who do I contact?
You can email our help desk at contact@movieworksboston.com, or call 7 days/9a-midnight EST , at 978-762-4727. We will provide updated information as to the whereabouts of your shipment by the next business day.
what is your return policy?
Unopened goods (still in factory wrap) may be returned for full refund if postmark is within 45 days of movieworksboston.com invoice except for items shipped btwn Nov 1 -Dec 24, which enjoy a 90 day return period. Items received damaged may also be returned within the above periods for exchange credit or refund.
Defective goods (no damage to packaging, but contents not functional upon receipt) may be returned for same item exchange or full purchase credit at movieworksboston.com within 1 yr of invoice date. Reimbursement will be made for return shipping, according to USPS rates for Media Mail.
Refunds for customer-elected returns (not due to defects or misshipping) will be issued by company check within 5 days of receipt of returned goods. Any refunds due to product defects or our own shipping errors will be credited directly to customer credit card if applicable.
Where do your 'previewed' dvds come from?
We operate 2 video rental locations, and we open up to 250 DVDs of major new titles upon release. Within 2-3 weeks of the original release, we are ready to sell them at substantial discount (typically about half of their new price). All the original packaging is intact and included, and each disc is machine tested for 100% defect-free play. Rental stickers are minimal, and removable. We guarantee them against play defects for 1 year, by way of same-title exchange. It's a great way to collect! Quantities are finite, however, so it's best to grab them when they are first offered.
What's the fate of my VCR?
As of Sep. 2005 the major studios have begun to reduce their commitment to VHS in earnest. About half the new releases are no longer available on tape. The fact remains, however, that many older titles are ONLY available on vhs, as DVD still has a lot of catching up to do. Our commitment to VHS is much firmer than that of our larger, corporate counterparts, who have pretty much dropped it. However, the long walk into the video sunset has begun. VHS is probably most comparable to audiocassettes in its trajectory.
